POTTERMOAR!

I was able to get into Pottermore long enough to get my wand and get sorted! \\\\\\\\o/////////

From the site:

Phoenix feather core:

This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike.

Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalise, and their allegiance is usually hard won.

Hornbeam:

My own wand [Ollivander's] is made of hornbeam, and so it is with all due modesty that I state that hornbeam selects for its life mate the talented witch or wizard with a single, pure passion, which some might call obsession (though I prefer the term ‘vision’), which will almost always be realised. Hornbeam wands adapt more quickly than almost any other to their owner’s style of magic, and will become so personalised, so quickly, that other people will find them extremely difficult to use even for the most simple of spells. Hornbeam wands likewise absorb their owner’s code of honour, whatever that might be, and will refuse to perform acts - whether for good or ill - that do not tally with their master’s principles. A particularly fine-tuned and sentient wand.

Length and Flexibility:

Most wands will be in the range of between nine and fourteen inches. While I have sold extremely short wands (eight inches and under) and very long wands (over fifteen inches), these are exceptionally rare. In the latter case, a physical peculiarity demanded the excessive wand length. However, abnormally short wands usually select those in whose character something is lacking, rather than because they are physically undersized (many small witches and wizards are chosen by longer wands).

Wand flexibility or rigidity denotes the degree of adaptability and willingness to change possessed by the wand-and-owner pair - although, again, this factor ought not to be considered separately from the wand wood, core and length, nor of the owner’s life experience and style of magic, all of which will combine to make the wand in question unique.

So, I am rare, obsessive and surprisingly swishy - sounds about right!

AND NOW, my sorting:

RAVENCLAW!

That definitely fits, although I was sort of expecting Gryffindor - I was overwhelmingly voted a Gryff at Hogwarts Elite.

Ha ha, it's kind of ridiculous how excited I am about all of this. But seriously, what I've seen of the site has been fun so far; I like the discover-as-you-go aspect of it. They really need to work on getting more servers, though, because it's pretty redonkulous how difficult it is to access the site. A little more interaction in some of the chapters would be nice, too (although I'm thinking that different objects might appear at random when you go back to certain chapters?) and the site is eerily quiet. I don't usually like music on websites, but I think this one needs it. Or at the very least, sound effects when you click on things.

I'm looking forward to figuring out how dueling works - I wonder if the type of wand you have influences it at all. That would be awesome, although with my wand, it sounds like it might backfire on me a lot. The potion brewing, etc., also look like they'll be fun.

...and I think I might have to rejoin Hogwarts Elite, because I've forgotten how much I love the Potterverse. YAY MAGIC. Oh, and I'm MirrorSickle110, if anyone wants to friend me over there.

INORITE? I was so excited, lol.

It's www.pottermore.com, but unfortunately, it won't be open to everyone until next month. They had a promotion a little while ago where if you checked the site at the right time and were able to answer a riddle, you got early admittance. I got in on the last day.
